In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov teaches you a simple and aggressive chess opening for Black against 1.e4. This aggressive gambit works well at club level and will guarantee you a lot of victories.
It is the Kadas gambit from the Scandinavian Defense which happens after the following moves: 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.d4 c6 4.dxc6 e5. Black keeps sacrifices the pawns for a quick development followed by a sharp attack. After White plays 5.dxe5, Black can exchange the queens and go for an aggressive attack 5…Qxd1 6.Kxd1 Ng4, threatening Nxf2+ knight fork.
This gambit is similar to the Portuguese Variation or Jadoul Variation (from the Scandinavian Defense) which happens after the following moves: 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.d4 Bg4. Most of your opponents will be surprised to see this opening and will make a lot of mistakes, guaranteeing you a lot of victories!
