I played this position somewhat instinctively and won against Beth bot (1600) which opened c4. I'm not sure how, when, or why this opening got in my brain box; maybe it was the logical thing to play or maybe I'd seen it before but after the analysis gave the opening a name, I figured I'd go look more into it.

Great video. I’ve always liked this opening; the transpositions from the owen’s defence 1.e4 b6, and the fact that it has the English 1.c4 in mind, make it fairly universal.

I play white and when I play d4, I want and expect d5. However, if they move the b pwn, it fvks with my head. I am here to figure out how to combat this type of bs. I don't like people who fiochetto. It fuvcks up my prepared openings. So, I am here to look at this english defense thing and figure out how to clap back and those btches.

When I play with the black pieces, and if I see d4, I have started to use english. why? . . . well, on the flip side, I hate facing b3 when I play d4 as white. So, I figure I can learn how to play the english so I can face it when I am white. Not surprisingly, I like it as black when I use the english defense. lol. You know what I mean? Cool vid! dude!
