  1. A guy at my club his favourite opening is 1.d4, 2.g3, hopefully this will give him something to think about. Thanks again, great video.

  2. Woah! You did it real fast! Thanks for covering another one of my suggestions. I will definitely add this to my repertoire.

  3. the video is good but maybe you can turn up the audio higher when u edit, have a good day man

  4. I played this position somewhat instinctively and won against Beth bot (1600) which opened c4. I'm not sure how, when, or why this opening got in my brain box; maybe it was the logical thing to play or maybe I'd seen it before but after the analysis gave the opening a name, I figured I'd go look more into it.

If anyone is interested, the PGN is below. I'm still surprised at how many of the moves I played were theory.

  5. Nice! Been playing this for a few months and needed some new ideas to apply to it.

  6. Great video. I’ve always liked this opening; the transpositions from the owen’s defence 1.e4 b6, and the fact that it has the English 1.c4 in mind, make it fairly universal.

  7. What a switched on, eloquent young man!
Great video. Keep up the good work, lad

  8. Okay the very first game I played this opening with was complete dominance. Hahaha It was a different variation than the one you showed, but my opponent was clearly not prepared. Here's the link to the game I played. https://www.chess.com/a/UqEPEXGr29PDg

  9. I was skeptical then i subscribed. great vid

  10. Dude, how old are you? lol keep it up I can definitely see this channel growing rapidly.

  11. Alright now I just have to wait for someone to play d4 as a 700

  12. Def a great video. Will check out your other videos.

  13. omg bruh thank you so much! I've been trying to find myself a repertoire against 1.d4 that not a lot of people know about, so I thought the English Defense would be really great. But I haven't found a good video explaining it and its ideas until now! I learned a lot from this, tysm again

  14. You know your shit and you're confident…I'm sold. Well done and subscribed.

  15. English Defense vs Modern Defense, what do you prefer?

  16. How to counter the English defense, the Welsh opening

  17. How articulate! I mean, wow, how old are you?

  18. Good Video lad. Keep Working Hard. Teach people different types of openings and make them interested in chess.

  19. I play white and when I play d4, I want and expect d5. However, if they move the b pwn, it fvks with my head. I am here to figure out how to combat this type of bs. I don't like people who fiochetto. It fuvcks up my prepared openings. So, I am here to look at this english defense thing and figure out how to clap back and those btches.

  20. Kind sir: I like it. I have done this now. When I play with the black pieces, and if I see d4, I have started to use english. why? . . . well, on the flip side, I hate facing b3 when I play d4 as white. So, I figure I can learn how to play the english so I can face it when I am white. Not surprisingly, I like it as black when I use the english defense. lol. You know what I mean? Cool vid! dude!

  21. 2 minutes and 6 seconds in and man you are killing it. That was awesome man!

  22. Excellent commentary. Fast, precise, and on point. Thank you!

  23. Excellent Bro !!
Won my first game with 0 mistakes, 0 blunders, 0 missed wins

  24. Nice Video. I play the Nimzo Larsen Attack with the white pieces and this is basically the same. Keep the good work.👍💯

  25. Wow. I've been playing this opening for months and didn't realize it had a name. I need to clean up my lines a little bit, but this fits neatly into what I was already doing. You have a new subscriber for life!

  26. I've watched a ton of chess content but the way you explain the key ideas and the overall flow and structure of your videos is really outstanding. Well done.

  27. Nice video! Ive seen you on TikTok lately. Keep up the good work.
