  1. Aafter c5 I would check with the queen and then take the pawn.

  2. e4 c6 d4 d5 c5 should be known as the rozman gambit

  3. A Beginner to Advance
Gotham chess is simply a complete package
I wish everyone gets a teacher like you, keep going ❤♟

  4. Thanks, Gotham. This was very informative beginning and very nice moves last game with bish c2 bish f8 🙂

  5. You didn't consider one move in the second game where you were stuck for so long. You could push your pawn to f3 and then when your opponent takes, you can take back with your rook on the f file, hitting the queen. Is that possible?

  6. Levy: "this holds a special place in my heart"
Me: * flashbacks to that one time I played the fantasy variation after many games of being declined* "amen"

  7. Magnificent! Pretty useful for a total beginner like me. I only missed even a mention for the Hillbilly attack, which is a bit confusing for me when I play the Caro. Thanks for the content!

  8. Thanks very much. Do you have a video on Slav Defence with a6?

  9. you're overestimating both me and my oponent.

  10. Please do more opening videos! They are great and I want to learn to play other stuff than QG as white and Dutch and Sicilian dragon as black

  11. 12:28 – A channel called 'Hanging Pawns' does excellent in depth breakdowns of all the lines as well if that's useful to anyone.

  12. This guys look like Daniel Radcliff, the Harry Potter. A lot.

  13. I love the Caro-Kann too. When I started playing chess more seriously in 2012, I took it up because I had a problem against 1.e4. I decided to give it a try and it's been immense fun 🙂

  14. Wasnt this video already uploaded last year?

  15. Does anyone know what to do in advanced variation if opponent plays Bb5+?

  16. played this after whatching the video' and won!

  17. Thanks to Levy's Caro Kann course, the opposite is true. In my data base I score 58% as black (0% draw) vs the Fantasy variation – in 19 games @ 1000/1100 elo. (Would be higher but I just straight up blundered some stupid stuff). It's rare to even face the Fantasy at this elo (And even more rare to face the Panov). As black I have just over 600 games starting 1.e4, I have 591 games with Black response 1.c6 playing Caro Kann. Out of all that…. Only 19 games were the Fantasy variation. And since I bought the course I love seeing it. Side note to anyone around the 1000/1100 elo. Stop playing the hillbilly attack vs the Caro Kann. You look absolutely ridiculous.. It's such a garbage variation 😂

  18. Θοδωρης Κωνσταντινου says:

I watched the video again yesterday and and today I faced the variation with the queen to f3🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽

  19. lol from the karo kann I won a piece on move 5 at 900 level thanks levyy

  20. I am learning caro, thank you so much levy ❤️

  21. The exchange Panov-Botvinnik Attack can be transposed to from 1.e4 d5, 1.c4 c6 and many others

  22. What's the opposite of a 'Caro-Kann' Defense?
    – Caro-Kan'not'

  23. Hey Levy, I get the impression at lower levels, no one makes the moves you suggest, so the opponent doesn't react right and im lost

  24. Levy, at my level they don't push take or protect. Instead they push the a pawn, pawn roulette style or say ooh Horsey! Nothing to do with this setup. In other words, they continue to play how they want to instead of reacting to this defense. SO I always end up with some weird variations

  25. So I just take the white pawn in the middle of they respond by pushing the A pawn, nothing to do with their first move

  26. Levy in my games they never move that knight like the chess gods never gave it to them

  27. If they don't defend, take it and play normal chess

  28. That Magnus Carlsen hung mate he refers to around 10:30 is hilarious for those who haven't seen it. The mans pre moves a rapid game, gets mated in 15 seconds, then rips his shirt in anger. Gotta love GM-level chess

  29. I keep getting bishop B5 after knight C6 (when I play advanced variation). Am I supposed to play bishop F5 after that? Or d7 or what

  30. I play the accelerated Panov attack (c4 on move 2) against the Caro Kann because most players have never encountered it before, pretty effective at my 1400 level

  31. Edit: Ya should add Caro-Kann Defence: Accelerated Panov Attack (1. e4 c3 2. c4…)
It get lot of players out of comfort zone and then they make a lot of blunders

  32. I heard that with the Caro kann defense, you have a lower chance of winning

  33. Levy gives honest advise and very good communication

  34. I watch the video, I make notes, I try to prep for the most common moves.
    ….
    First two opponents play 2.e5 and 2. Qf3 after e4… 🙂 fml
