Master the King’s Indian Defense:

✅15% Off Code: 15kings Good through end of January, 2022
The King’s Indian Defense is a fun and exciting option for black against d4. In the course, I cover all main variations including, the Classical (main line) King’s Indian, the 4 Pawns Attack, the Samisch, the Averbakh, and the Fianchetto (3.g3) variations. I also go over the Pirc Defense, and give you a system to play against the London. It is a complete opening repertoire with black. I talk about the ideas and concepts of the King’s Indian, and how it is a great opening for beginners, as well as masters. I give practical opening advice and tips, practice exercises, and live gameplay where I talk through my thought process as I play the King’s Indian.
This is brilliant! The e5 instead of the c5 actually has a lot more charm than I've given it credit for. I've always found this move easier to play against with white than c5. An interesting lesson all the way.
Here is why I play c5:
– We can transpose to the Maroczy Bind Sicilian, a position every chess player must know.
– We can transpose to the Benoni, my usual way of playing against the fianchetto on g2 if white decides to play like that.
– c5 kinda discourages white to castle queenside, because in such Benoni-like positions the black pawn majority is often tough to deal with.
All in all, I find e5 more fun to play, but giving white more options. Still, if you're used to playing in one way and you feel like you're succeeding, why not keeping playing that way? Nevertheless, I will look into these ideas. I never knew of those possible knight sacrifices on e4.
Recently discovered your channel, congratulations!
You deserve all those views bro you're really great at teaching 😉
Congrats on your 8 mill !!
Thanks for doing some Kings Indian course for us I some times play the Kings Indian and the last time I saw the the 4 pawns Qe2 I got destroyed and stopped playing the Kings Indian for a while.
I got some ideas that I'll try from this thank you 👍
Great YouTube channel. i like your content. Congratulations on developing your channel. The number of subscriptions is constantly growing. You explain very well. Just bought your two courses. I'm sure I won't regret it. Greetings from Germany.
That’s incredible growth. Most channels don’t reach 8 million views for years and years. There are many chess channels that started up to 53-5 years before yourself and have not even got a fraction of what you have achieved.
I think it is your passion mixed in with very fundamental and effective instruction that wins people over. Also your personality is perfectly suited to this. You are not stuck up , arrogant or have any of those personality negatives that can hold back a channel.
Just as importantly your content and it’s presentation are of the highest quality.
I really believe you can become as popular as Levy if you play it right. I really believe you have to start doing some collabs with bigger channels. You help each other grow.
Keep up the good work
Nelson : "I am just a random guy, who knows a little bit about chess"
You are a national master 😶
Congratulations and Thanks Nelson…..look forward for more reportoire of different openings for white and black…. especially queen's opening
What if at 14:36 or at 15:22 we didn't trade knights and instead played bishop e7?
one of the best channel i have subscribed
Here’s one thing I’ve noticed. Some players expect you to resign if you get down in material and get frustrated if you don’t. They lose focus and oftentimes you can catch up and even win. So I don’t resign unless my opponent has a big lead in both material and position. Just saying.
“We literally don’t care about this pawn.”
Nice 😂
Wow your channel has grown so much! I remember when u had like 5000 subs😏. I just tested the King's indian, and it's fun to play, also can get very agressive. Good content.
Congratulations on this success!!
Congratulations on accomplishment of 8 million!!!! I enjoy your videos and commentary.
Congratulations on 8 Million views! You have great presentation skills and are able to cover a subject thoroughly and concisely at the same time. All the Best to you going forward.
Will this course get me to 2900 in classic or even better at 166060 in Blitz?
All kidding aside, you're one of the upcoming chess channels that I enjoy. Another one is NM Rob Ramirez. Keep doing what you're doing.
Kind of interested in what you have to say about the 6Bg5 Na6 7f4 line because I compared Kornev's lines to Bologan's lines and Bologan's lines didn't defend against all of Kornev's variations. Bolgan's book however was written in 2010 and Kornev's book was written in 2013. I forget which variation Bolagan recommended against the 7f4 variation. I think it was 7…c6 but I could be wrong. Kornev gives 8Qd2 Nc7 9Bf3 Ne6 10Bh4. As I said I can't go into detail because I don't have the Bologan book anymore but I'm interested in what you have to say about the 7f4 variation. Great videos by the way.
im just a nobody who is tired of losing below 1000 rating so congratulations on 8M views we did it
keep up the good work sir!
Congratulations man.
Hard word.
Really loved this course. It would really help if you do more courses like Sicilian defense course.
Nelson, you do a good job without off topic asides. Keep it up.
I feel like you are telling people to play bad pawn sac lines.
8 million is just a start. Keep going💪
I never kingside. Never used “strategies” still win. All of this stuff to me seems to reactive. Think that ruins the fun for me.
Gg
you got 8 million views cuz you make amazing content! It's really to the point, and easy to understand, which is rare to find, especially with chess videos because some of the concepts are so abstract.
Man thank you for your content, really. Sometimes I feel like I’m about to quit chess because I feel like I’m not improving and I’m not talented at all but when I see your videos I feel inspired to play and study and try to get better
You made my day, Now I can play king's indian consistent
10 Million soon 😉
With any luck you will very soon be celebrating 100,000 subscribers. That's a pretty crazy number given how young your channel is.
i have watched a bunch of the other chess YTers for years..
i just discovered yours a couple of weeks ago..
and am learning things from you, that i havent learned in 40 years of playing, and watching other videos.
fast, to the point and very precise info. Kudos!
thanks a whole lot.
Congratulations!
You teach well. The vast majority of players are bottom dwellers not GM’s so being able to teach us plebs is appreciated.
Belated Congratulations 🎉.
Super interesting. I love King Indian theory be it King Indian Opening or Defence. Now I have learn some theory on Qd2 and the fascinating Knight to e4 ! Wow 🤩🤩🤩
Explaining the lines instead just saying “& with this position white is just winning” really helps newer players learn how to capitalize on good positions. Thank you!
30:09 What If Nxe4, Nxe4, then Nxe4, fxe4 and Qxg4?
You say you're not that good, but you're better than your viewers, which means they can learn a lot. And we need to keep learning through reinforcement, and practice of course. Apparently we need to read books as well, only I've never seen any. Since I will never achieve your level, I do not need to look for higher level players' videos and probably there aren't any.
Hey man love love your channel I wish I could watch all day and learn, anyway I was wondering if you have a video teaching the London system, thanks!
Three months later and it's already over 13m views. Man you're going places!
Hi Nelson how are you?
Thank you so much for all your hard work just to help us with our chess careers and im very very proud of being a part of the 8 million people who feel the same way I do. 😊
I saw Ne4 lol
My rating went up by 175 in a month, a hundred or so in just days. I’m pretty sure it was from watching videos from people like you and GothamChess!
You understand well the mental state of us, your viewers. What we likely do not understand. It would make you flower in other jobs, too. Eg. you would probably be a good sales person (selling the reputable goods, no garbage, no con meaning of 'sales'). Perhaps later in your career, should this one dissatisfy you for any reason. After all, chess is just a play, right?
Your videos are truly beautiful… Keep it up
I just played my kings indian against a bot playing kings indian. What a mess
Can Kings indian be played against e4 ? Is it possible to lead with scillian dragon first then go into KID ?
So what's the plan to deter the queen pin on bishop g5? I think knight to E6 is supposed to let the queen move to E8 or D7? I'm refering to the Averbakh variation at 4:40
